Staff Bio | Paolo Miliozzi, Ph.D.
Paolo Miliozzi graduated summa cum laude in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bologna and obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications from the University of Padua. During his doctorate work he won a scholarship to the University of California at Berkeley where he worked for two years as a researcher in the areas of integrated circuit design and design automation under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli. Since 1996 he has worked with several high-tech companies in the area of Integrated Circuit design. In November 2009, Paolo joined MaxLinear, a company which develops Integrated TV tuners for terrestrial, cable and satellite markets, enabling the most innovative TV technology, which allows consumers to view and record multiple channels at the same time. At MaxLinear, he is now Senior Director of System On Chip Technology and Physical Design. In this role, he manages a multinational R&D team across US, China and India, and he is responsible for defining the company’s technology roadmap and in charge of the physical implementation of all its devices. Dr. Miliozzi has been actively contributing to the local Italian community since 2004, when he founded together with his wife, on a volunteer basis, an Italian Language school for kids in Orange County as part of Fondazione Italia. He has been serving as President of Fondazione Italia since 2006. In 2007 he received the prestigious Heritage Award from the Orange County American-Italian Renaissance Foundation (OCAIRF) for his efforts to promote the Italian language and culture throughout Southern California. He has also served as President of OCICA, an Orange-County-based non-profit Italian cultural association dedicated to promoting the Italian culture to the local community from 2008 to 2012. Finally, he has been in the Board of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce West since 2009.Return To Staff
