San Pedro High School Students Raise Money for Amatrice

Date 09.21.2016

On September 14 and 15, Mrs. Lanza’s Italian classes made Pasta all’Amatriciana, a wonderful pasta dish created in the little town of Amatrice in the NE region of Lazio in Italy. Amatrice was almost completely destroyed in the August 24 earthquake that hit central Italy on that day. Almost all the 300 people killed were in the little town of Amatrice.

The San Pedro Italian class high school students have joined all the restaurants in Italy who have served Pasta all’Amatriciana and collected a euro or 2 per plate and donated the proceeds to the earthquake relief fund. Students raised $200 that they are sending to NIAF (the National Italian American Foundation).

Here is NIAF’s link if you would like to donate.
