Pizza: Traditon and Authenticity Lecture at the IIC on March 11

This lecture, presented by professor Mauro Rossi (dell’Art Institute of California – Hollywood), focuses on the historic origins of pizza and its re-interpretations in different areas of the world. The event is part of a series called Around the Italian Table, which explores Italian food traditions and their cultural and social meanings. The series was conceived by the IIC to introduce Expo 2015 of Milan, whose theme is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.

Mauro Daniel Rossi started his career working in several restaurants all over the world, before becoming instructor and Department Chair at Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, in 2002. He received Master’s in Anthropology with a concentration in food and culture. Since 2010 he is academic director of Culinary arts at The Art Institute of California – Hollywood.
