“Italians for the Future” Poetry Contest – K-12 Students Encouraged to Apply by Oct. 15

The Italian Cultural Institute of New York announces a multilingual, multigenerational poetry prize for residents and citizens of the United States.
There are three age categories for poetry in Italian or dialect. The theme is open-ended.
The age categories are as follows:
Category 1: up to 12 years old
Category 2: from 13 to 19 years old
Category 3: from 20 to 35 years old
Out of competition: from 36 years
Submissions must be the author’s work only, must be unpublished, and must not have entered any other award.
All submissions must be submitted in MSWord, Times New Roman, 12 PT, on U.S. letter-size paper, in a sealed envelope without any identifying marks or information. The page of individual poems should not include the author’s name. The entire text should not exceed 60 lines. A cover letter with the author’s name,
address, and e-mail should be included in the envelope addressed to the Institute, along with the anonymous sealed envelope containing the text.
Awarded texts will be published by the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute and formally presented, with a reading by the authors, during an event organized by the Italian Cultural Institute.
There is no entry fee.
