Meet the Teacher

Ciao, my name is Simona Cavadini and I grew up in Como, Italy. I graduated from the Bocconi University in Milan, majoring in International Business. After several years working in Human Resources for a multinational company, I decided it was time for a change of scenery (and weather!) and moved to sunny Los Angeles to follow my husband. Since moving to Los Angeles, I have worked for the U.S. office of the Vicenza Trade Fair as a Marketing and PR Specialist. Additionally, I taught Italian to private clients, as a way to stay connected to my culture. After becoming a mom of two wonderful children, I decided to pursue my passion for teaching more rigorously. I completed a training course for foreign language teachers based on the Montessori Methodology and started teaching for Fondazione Italia in 2014. I have since had the opportunity to attend several methodology seminars, including, most recently, a seminar in methods and technology taught by Prof. Elissa Tognozzi, Director of Language Studies at the UCLA Italian Department — a well known educator and author of Italian textbooks. This has inspired me to experiment with new methodologies and approaches and to continue to further my teaching career. I teach at Fondazione Italia’s Burbank Center as well as in an online advanced level course. I am very excited to start a new Beginner Level class in Sherman Oaks. Vi aspetto!
