Assistant Professor (non TT) of Italian Needed at High Point University – High Point, NC

The Department of World Languages, Literatures, & Cultures at High Point University is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Italian (Non-Tenure Track) to begin in August 2021. Responsibilities will include teaching 7 courses per academic year, student advising and mentorship, and commitment to university, departmental, and program service.

The successful candidate will be well versed in current pedagogies and take an innovative approach to teaching Italian language at the introductory and intermediate levels. They will have a strong record of teaching and will have experience and interest in interdisciplinary program building, retention, and outreach. Ability to teach Italian for business and availability to accompany students abroad are highly desired.

Area of specialization is open, but preference will be shown to those with expertise in modern and/or contemporary Italian Studies, such as literature, cinema, and/or culture. Commitment to interdisciplinary and transnational approaches is expected.
