FILM: Screening of “Il Capitale Umano” at Bowers – Sept. 20

Date 09.17.2015

Cinema Italiano! presented by the Italian Cultural Arts Council invites you to a screening of “Il Capitale Umano” (“Human Capital”) directed by Paolo Virzì ,(DVD Courtesy of Vicky Carabini), on  Sunday, September 20 at Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. The film has won awards in every film festival it entered in 2013. The term “human capital” is legalese that designates an accident victim’s net worth in compensation claims. Here it aptly defines the Bernaschi and Ossola families, the first elegant capitalists and the second struggling middle-classers who find their fates intertwined when  an SUV runs a cyclist off the road on the night before Christmas Eve complicating the lives of all involved in ways they never anticipated. (Italian with English subtitles).
