Gina Pietrantoni

Gina grew up in Abruzzo and graduated from the University of L’Aquila with a major in Russian Language and Literature. She moved to Colorado and taught Italian in the French and Italian Department at the University of Colorado at Boulder from 2001 to 2008. In 2004, she received her M.A. in Foreign Language Pedagogy from the University of Venice. In 2009 after moving to Arizona she has worked as a language Instructor in the School of International Languages and Cultures at Arizona State University. Gina has taught face-to-face, blended, and online course. She has been a contributing author and writer for first and second year Italian textbooks and ancillary materials. She is interested in the development of language and cultural proficiency and the development of instructional materials. She lives in Scottsdale, with her husband and their two boys.

Alessia Mogavero

Alessia was born and raised in Catania, Italy. After graduating with honors from the University of Catania with a major in English Language and Literature, she worked as College Assistant in the Department of Italian Literature and Philology. In 2000, she won the Competitive Examination for Teaching Qualification held by the Italian Ministry of Education. She taught English Language and Civilization in Catania and became the leader of the Department of Languages. In 2006, she moved to Phoenix, where she earned her Certification as Italian Language Teacher at Berlitz Phoenix Learning Center. In 2008, she achieved the Toastmasters International Competent Communicator Award and taught Leadership Principles and Communication to large audiences in Arizona and Colorado. Currently, she serves as the Chair of the Catania Committee inside the Phoenix Sister Cities, Inc. organization. Alessia lives in Central Phoenix with her husband and their two girls. She raised her daughters speaking Italian, as she believes that learning a foreign language can highly benefit people of any age, especially if done with curiosity and humor.

Enrico Minardi

Enrico Minardi is from Ravenna, and has studied in Florence, Paris, and Madison-WI. He lives now in Mesa, AZ, where he teaches French and Italian at Arizona State University. He is very active in promoting Italian language and culture in Arizona leading coordinating and teaching enrichment classes in many schools, and organizing many events throughout the Valley. In particular, he has already organized the Phoenix leg of the Italian Film Festival USA, now at its third edition. He has published a few scholarly books on Twentieth century’s Italian authors.

Ingrid Pagliarulo

Born in Napoli in a family of artists that instilled in her a deep love and appreciation for her cultural heritage, Ingrid studied Italian Literature and Philosophy at Federico II University of Napoli. Ingrid has been involved in theater and teaching children since she was 14 years old. Together with her musician husband, Daniele, they opened a music and dance school in Napoli called Zero dB Lab. After moving to Los Angeles several years ago, Ingrid dedicated herself to teaching others about the culture and customs of Southern Italy. In her teachings Ingrid  includes music, theater, photography, dance, cinema, literature, and performance art with the goal to spread art, culture and customs from the South of Italy. Her enthusiasm for the Italian language and culture comes through in every lesson she gives and is thrilled to be passing on her knowledge and love of Italy to children.

Cinzia Moniaci Quevedo

Cinzia was born and raised in Torino, Italy where she received a Master’s Degree in Literature and Philosophy and a Ph.D in Communications. She is also fluent in English, Spanish and French. After a busy career as a fashion and music journalist, and later as a creator of her own fashion brand and Interior Designer, she was able to find the time to focus on her family and her passion for teaching and songwriting. Cinzia has been teaching at the successful Growing Great program at Meadow’s Elementary in Manhattan Beach as a volunteer and is loving every minute of it. When she was approached to teach an Italian class for children, it felt like a perfect match. Cinzia is an enthusiastic educator with a passion for teaching.
