EVENT: Columbus Day Celebration at Bowers Museum – Oct. 4

The Renaissance Lodge and Foundation and the Italian Cultural Arts Council, Bowers Museum invites you to its ANNUAL COLUMBUS DAY CELEBRATION on Sunday, October 4 at 10:00 am in the courtyard of the Bowers Museum. The Columbus Ceremony will feature a color guard, singing of the Italian and American anthems, comments by Italian dignitaries including The Hon. Consul General of Italy, Antonio Verde and Valeria Rumori, director Italian Cultural Institute, and a wreath ceremony at the Christopher Columbus Monument. This year the Renaissance Lodge and Foundation along with the Italian Arts Council invites you to celebrate Italian Heritage month with three honorees Vicky Carabini, Joseph Ferrucci, Esq. and John Russo, Ph.D.

The Orange County American Italian Renaissance Foundation is dedicated to preserving the heritage of all American Italian in Orange  County. They have been conducting a Columbus Celebration since 1972 in Santa Ana at the Plaza of the Flags and at Bowers Museum since 1992 the year of the Columbus Quincentennary Celebration at which time we place and dedicate a monument in honor of the great explorer Christopher Columbus in the Museum Court Yard.The afternoon program will include free Italian Ices and live musical performances of romantic and uplifting Italian traditional songs from Italy. There will also be a marionette puppet show in the Norma Kershaw Auditorium beginning at 1:00 pm, great entertainment for children.
