IAMLA is making available for download free-of-charge, the first three lesson plans in the series are designed for classroom use by middle and high school educators and serve as tools for teaching history. The curricula were made possible by grants from the Alfred J. Casola Trust, the Getty Foundation, and Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles.

World War II – This lesson examines the restrictions, relocations, and internment of Italian Americans during World War II, including the lasting effects of the wartime stigmas.
Civil Rights – This lesson explores the role an Italian American judge played in outlawing the Ku Klux Klan in the State of California and eliminating segregation in housing.
Folk Dances: The Tarantella – This lesson explores the history of Southern Italy’s “Dance of the Spider.”
Food Traditions – This lesson explore the connections between food and culture.
