Adult Advanced 4b is the second course in a two-course Advanced 2 series that is designed for students with an established advanced knowledge of Italian. This 8-week course begins with a review of the main points that were taught in Advanced 4a. While increasing their vocabulary, students will acquire a deeper knowledge of the subjunctive mode compared to the indicative mode, and will finally grasp the passive form and the indirect speech concepts. Lastly, students will meet the “Journalistic Conditional” a peculiar use of the Conditional tense that is unique to the Italian language. At the end of the course, we hope students will be able to recognize how the choice of a tense conveys a certain mood and better understand some idiomatic constructions and verbs found in Italian articles and literature. Your teacher is Lorena.
