Date 09.18.2014

CINEMA ITALIANO! Offered by the Italian Cultural Arts Council presents “L’Aria Salata” (Salty Air) directed by Alessandro Angelini in Italian with English subtitles on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. “L’Aira Salata” tells the story of Fabio, a young educator full of energy who works with passion and dedication helping former prison inmates with their reintegration into society. One day a prisoner serving a sentence for homicide is sent to him by a colleague. This is Sparti, a man in his sixties with a difficult character which prison has hardened even further. While reading Sparti’s files, Fabio suddenly understands that the man in front of him is the father he has neither seen nor heard from since he was a child. This unexpected encounter forces Fabio to face the ghosts of a family past which he had blotted out in his mind, and clash with his sister Cristina, who does not want to reopen old wounds that jeopardize the tranquility of their current lives.
