Cinema Italiano presents “Il Primo Incarico” on May 18 at Bowers Museum

Cinema Italiano, presented by the Italian Cultural Arts Council, will screen “Il Primo Incarico” (“The First Assignment”) directed by Francesco Cecere
in Italian with English subtitles at Bowers Museum. A hit at the Venice Film Festival, Francesco Cecere’s exquisite drama follows a young teacher who is posted to a provincial Puglian town where she struggles to connect with the local children, get over her aristocratic boyfriend, and face the many prejudices against independent women of her era.
