Join Fondazione Italia for a FREE one-hour virtual presentation on one of Italy’s many fantastic traditions, il CARNEVALE! During this time of the year, the streets of Italy get crowded with elaborate costumes, colorful masks, animated floats, and tons of confetti. From north to south, Italy boasts unique traditions of Carnevale, some of which date back centuries. In some towns, Carnevale marks the official ending of the festivities that began at Christmas. This virtual workshop will present an overview of the many spectacular Italian traditions, such as the Venetian “Flight of the Angel”, its historical origins, and the special food enjoyed only during this time of the year.
