Now Accepting Grant Applications in Support of K-12 Italian Language Programs

Date 12.18.2019

Under the auspices of the General Consulate of Italy Los Angeles, Fondazione Italia is happy to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 academic year K-12 Italian Language Grant.

What can the funds be used for?  Grant funds may be used by new or established programs to be applied towards the purchase of Italian text books and work books, didactic materials and to supplement Italian teacher or Italian teacher assistant salaries.

What is the application deadline?  Download the application here and submit it to Fondazione Italia no later than February 15, 2020.

Who can apply? K-12 public or private schools that offer integrated Italian language programs in Southern California, Nevada, New Mexico and Nevada can apply.

What is the approval process?  A grant review committee composed of representatives from Fondazione Italia and the Consulate General of Italy will review each application on a case-by-case basis. A degree of financial participation by the school is expected, especially if you are a continuing school. Funding will only be given to schools that offer Italian to their students during the school day or as an elective class. Grant amounts vary and are subject to availability of funds from the government of Italy. The review committee reserves the right to award the grants at their discretion.
