Pre-Intermediate

Pre-Intermediate I is designed for students who have an established high beginning knowledge of Italian. The course begins with a review of the main points that were taught in Beginning II. Throughout this 15-week course students will learn new vocabulary regarding “daily life and weather,” “flavors of Italy,” “food,” and “family.” Students will deepen their knowledge of the passato prossimo, learn the use of reflexive verbs, direct pronouns and possessive adjectives. At the end of the course, students will be able to confidently speak about events that have happened in the past.

Pre-Intermediate II is designed for students who have an established high beginning knowledge of Italian. The course begins with a review of the main points that were taught in Pre-Intermediate I. Throughout this 15-week course students will learn new vocabulary regarding pets and description of physical characteristics. Students will learn the imperfetto and condizionale verb tenses and will be introduced to the imperativo verb tense, as well as implementing the use of comparatives and superlatives.  At the end of the course, students will be able to confidently speak about memories, give advice, make comparisons, describe in detail a person and setting and give orders and instructions.
